{Ephesians 1:4, NLT}

Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.

It is amazing to think about God planning for my existence. To think that the most powerful Being in the universe thought about me brings shivers to my spine. If that is true it means that I am important and that there is a reason for my existence.

I am not here just because my parents decided to have another child, but because God decided I should have life. And that is a comforting and reassuring thought.

If God has chosen to create me means that life is not meaningless, that there is a purpose to my life. When I realize that truth and apply it to my life, it should motivate me to live differently than the rest of the world. Because God has given me life means that I able to live with a purpose that the rest of the world does not know.

Understanding that I have a God-given purpose is the difference between living a life of existence and living a life of meaning. The full life that Jesus promised is found when we live our lives according to the purpose God created us to have. Until we live in the light of our purpose, all we are doing is existing, moving from one day to the next. Thank God my life doesn't have to be like that!

“To understand and believe that God did know you and chose you from eternity will give you an enormous sense of purpose.” ~ Henry Blackaby, Created to be God's Friend
