{Philippians 2:5-11; ESV}

Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Dear God,

I long to have Your name praised through out the world.  There are so many people who do not even know You, let alone worship You.  Use me to bring a knowledge of Your love, grace, and forgiveness into my corner of the world. May I bring honor and glory to Your name.

I know that requires that I adopt the attitude of Christ Jesus.  The attitude Christ displayed is shocking because I don’t normally associate it with God, and that attitude is humility.  Jesus laid down his divine rights and picked up a frail human body for the purpose of saving, redeeming, and restoring creation.  Thank you Jesus for being humble!

It is so hard to be humble.  I want to fight for my rights and pursue my dreams.  This is why I need Your help.  I need You to instill in me confidence, trust, and hope so I am able to lay down my rights and follow after Jesus.  Provide me with the strength to be humble.  Make me like Jesus!
