Stress.

If we are being honest this is the word that many of us would use to describe the Christmas season.

Yes, we know that we should be experiencing love and hope and peace and joy, but in the midst of all the preparations and gift buying stress is the more common emotion that we experience.

When the Angel visited the shepherds to announce the birth of Jesus he declared, “I bring you good news of great JOY!”

Our Christmas celebrations should be filled with joy, because we are celebrating Jesus, the declaration of God’s eternal love for humankind and the promise of justice and redemption.

I preached this sermon two years ago during my advent sermon series. The point of the sermon is to remind us that regardless of the circumstances of life we can experience joy. The text that I used was 1 Peter 3:1-12. I hope that you are encouraged by this message.

Inexpressible Joy
