{Philippians 1:3-6; NLT}

Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

“And now are you willing to give yourselves up to the Holy Spirit? You can do it now. A great deal may feel nothing; but come. God alone can effect the change. God alone, who gave us the Holy Spirit, can restore the Holy Spirit in power into our life. God alone can ‘strengthen us with might by his Spirit in the inner man.’ And to every waiting heart that will make the sacrifice, and give up everything, and give time to cry and pray to God, the answer will come. The blessing is not far off. Our God delights to help us. He will enable us to perfect, not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, what was begun in the Spirit.”

Questions to consider:

  • What is one way you know God is still at work in your life?
  • Why do we need to be reminded that God will finish His work?
  • When will we experience the completion of God’s work in our lives?
