Paul’s Ponderings began as the monthly article I wrote for the Stronghurst Christian Church Newsletter. From there it morphed into a weekly devotion that I sent through email to my youth ministry students, friends, and family. In March of 2004 I transitioned to blogging. Eight years later, in October 2012, I switched from using Blogger to self-hosting with WordPress.
My goal for Paul’s Ponderings is to provide Christians encouragement and resources as they seek to follow Jesus. Since I am a fellow traveller on this journey, I know the ups and downs, as well as the struggles, that Disciples encounter, and I want to do what I can to help them along.
At Paul’s Ponderings you will find short devotions, commentaries on integrating faith with daily living, links to helpful resources, and a few inspirational quotes. My prayer is that this blog will be a helpful tool in your pursuit to follow Jesus.
I am a life long follower Jesus and I am passionate about helping people discover their place in God’s Kingdom. I learned about being a Christ follower from my parents while growing up on a farm in Northwest Iowa.
I attended Nebraska Christian College and earned a BA in Pastoral Ministry. I have had ministries in Russellville, AR; Stronghurst, IL; Greenview, IL; and Storm Lake, IA. I am the Senior Pastor at Bethlehem Free Methodist Church. Preaching and teaching are two gifts God has blessed me with to share His truth and love with the world.
I am one of the fortunate guys who was able to marry his dream girl. Jenny is my partner in ministry, a terrific worship leader, and a wonderful mother. We live in Austin, MN with our two children.
