{Philippians 1:27; NLT}

 Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News.

Dear God,

Forgive me of those times when I have stumbled and fell, when I did not live in a manner worthy of Jesus Christ. While I proclaim him as my Savior, I have not consistently lived a life that glorifies him.

Lord, I ask that You will give me the wisdom that I need to follow Jesus. I ask that You will empower me to live a life of courage so I can continue to follow no matter where Jesus may lead. I ask that You will surround me with brothers and sisters in Christ who will encourage me along this journey. I ask that You will soften my heart so I can love those around me, and through that love make Jesus real to them. Light my life so I can shine brightly for You.

Once again I declare my loyalty to You. God, I am Your loyal servant and loving child. The highest privilege for me is to be a citizen in Your Kingdom. Above all else, may that reality be my identity: a citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven.

It is in the name of Jesus I pray, amen.
