{1 Peter 2:11-12; NLT}
Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls. Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world.

Solutions to the problems—problems that range from incest to atomic warfare, from mental illness to poverty and pollution—are by no means easy or simple. But what we know of human nature seems clearly to indicate that insight on how to live can be provided effectively only by those who are prepared to lead the way by example.  Only by showing how to live can we teach how to live.

Dallas Willard, Hearing God, p. 146

Questions to consider:

  • Why does change often require an example?
  • Who has been a positive example in your life?
  • What can you do to be a positive example?
