Paul's Ponderings

Thoughts about following Jesus

A Generous Heart

{Proverbs 14:21; ESV}
Whoever despises his neighbor is a sinner, but blessed is he who is generous to the poor.

Heavenly Father, You are very generous with me.  Everything I have has been a gift from You.  Thank you Father for the love and concern You have had for my life.

Father, remind me that You have blessed my life so I can be a blessing. Fill my heart with compassion so I am not tempted to judge and despise those people who are in need.  Open my eyes to the needs around me and reveal to me the way I can be a blessing.

Lord, may I follow Your example. You did not treat me with contempt but showed me grace and compassion.  That is the way I want to live my life.

It is in the name of Jesus, my Savior and Lord, I pray, amen.

  1. This sums it all up!! A generous heart! And, I want to add: Gratitude — an attitude of gratitude! I am so grateful to God for all he has done!!

    Keep writing, Paul. I enjoy your messages so much. Thank you!

  2. Thanks Charlotte! I agree with gratitude. When we are grateful for what God has done for us we will be more willing to be generous with what we have.
